Job Description

Groundswell is looking for  part time (20 hours per week) Marketing Coordinator who is energetic, motivated, organized, and a team player.  The position is a part time permanent position with a potential to become full time in Summer 2019.

You are a highly motivated self-starter with meticulous attention to detail. You’re a social media wizard who’s online presence is authentic and natural and a little bit sassy. You have loads of followers on Instagram, Facebook, and Linkedin, and you know which posts work with which audience. You have fantastic writing skills, obviously. You’re good at catching impromptu moments on camera and sharing the results. A positive attitude and an innate ability to think outside the box come second nature to you. You’re energized by and cool with working in a fast-moving startup environment: always learning and adapting to change, staying on top of shifting priorities, and ready to take on accountability. You want to make the world a better place and social justice is important to you.

Qualifications (Skills & Experience):

  • 2+ years of relevant experience around writing, social media communications, and  execution of strategies in a marketing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand marketing or sales strategies and how to execute or undertake the related tasks to complete.

  • Strong analytical thinking, organizational and communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to work well in a tight knit team.

  • Experience with SquareSpace, Mailchimp, and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator is an asset.

  • Strong literacy with G Suite.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and works independently with minimal supervision, but as part of a tight team.

Summary of key duties includes:

  • Working with fellow team members to execute marketing campaigns across multiple platforms including the website, Mailchimp email marketing system, and Hootsuite.

  • Create content for digital and print distribution: website content, blog content, social media content, posters, handbills.

  • Act as the first point of contact for all inquiries received via the website and social media, respond and log these inquiries.

  • Create, schedule and distribute email communications to various audiences using Mailchimp.

  • Create monthly newsletters and press releases as needed.

This position is permanent and part time, 20 hours/week at $25.00/hour.
