You've got something great and now you need people to now about it! How do they find you? marketing! Often a perceived as a "dirty" word (and my, has there ever been plenty of that to give it a reputation), marketing is really just about getting the word out, and if you've got something that improves the lives of others in an ethical way, you should spread the word!
This week, we talk about the 4 P's of marketing and learn some drama-esque pitch basics in class. For the Tuesday Social Venture Social, Selena McLachlan of Modo Car Co-op will present her most important points for marketing, after which we'll engage in a q & a and discussion.
More about Selena:
Selena McLachlan, Director of Marketing at Modo, has been immersed in the sharing economy for nearly 15 years, leading marketing strategies for the two of Canada’s largest, values-based co-operatives in Canada - Vancity and Mountain Equipment Co-op - and now Modo. Marketing in a space where the mandate is to "serve the needs of your members and community, not create them", has been an interesting and fun challenge that's kept Selena deeply engaged in the sector - while growing the broader sharing movement. She lives in Port Moody, where she tries to run, bike, eat and shop locally, as much as possible!
